Welcome Letter

Once more, we welcome thee, to SPSCON.

For our third consecutive year, we welcome all to SPSCON III. It is with so much enthusiasm and the greatest interest to say that we wish for you to join us once more. The SPSCON Secretariat has been hard at work to complete each and every background guide to fulfill your expectations of a conference worthy of your time.

This year is different from no other. We have expanded our horizons in bringing in more committees that have topics delegates love and cherish. We have crafted each committee through regular meetings with advisors, fellow chairs, and input from our very own delegates in the pursuit of creating what is best for our delegates.

In SPSCON, our outmost importance is the delegate. He or she will be taken care of and pampered in the knowledge that they will take back to your schools.

We sincerely hope you enjoy SPSCON, where your commitee awaits for your arrival. Where our chair is your friend. Where real life debate meets real world politics.

Best wishes,

SPSCON Secretariat

Why SPSCON?

Quality Chairs:

All SPSCON chairs have been delegates at at least one international competition, have chaired at internal and national competitions before and have been trained by the highly respected Best Delegate organization.

Excellent Facilities:

SPSCON will be hosted at the brand new UNITEC campus near Altara Shopping Center, within the Altia Business Park. This venue boasts a large auditorium and multiple soundproof and technologically outfitted, airconditioned rooms for students to debate in. UNITEC is also a secure location to ensure the safety of all those participating in the conference.

Wide Range of Committees:

SPSCON will provide committees oriented towards both novice and experienced delegates. Topics will also cover a range of global issues from different corners of the world, so there will be something for everyone.

An Established Program:

Over the past several years, our MUN and MOAS teams have won several awards at international conferences, including 3 Best Delegates and an Outstanding Large Delegation Award at HACIA Democracy and an Honorable Mention at BUSUN. Given our experience and dedication, we are confident that our delegates can run a professional conference.

Small Committee Sizes:

In order to guarantee a high level of participation, we are capping general committees at a maximum of 20 delegates and crisis committees at a maximum of 10 delegates.

About SPSCON

SPSCON is a joint MUN/MOAS conference run by dedicated and professionally-trained students from Escuela Internacional Sampedrana in San Pedro Sula, Honduras who are passionate about debate and diplomacy. After hosting successful conferences for the past three years and being highly competitive at international conferences, we have decided to expand our annual SPSCON to include guests from outside of Honduras.

All of our committees will be chaired by experienced, professionally-trained EIS Chairs. These students all have experience competing at national and international conferences and chairing at a combination of regional, national or international conferences.

General committees will include up to 20 delegates. Crisis committees will include up to 10 delegates.
